ONSIGHT NIGHT - Monday March 2, 2026

This community night will provide J2’s members the opportunity to try competition format and climb comp-style boulder problems in a 5-on-5-off format. There will be 3 levels to choose from but don’t worry, the results don’t matter, there are no winners and it’s all just for fun. Join us for a fun, friendly, all ages, all abilities bouldering event.

What is 5-on-5-off format?

  • This format is standard in boulder competitions from Ontario’s locals, Canada’s nationals and even international events including the World Cup circuit and the Olympics

  • 5-on-5-off describes the amount of time the climber gets to climb and rest

  • The climber will get 5 minutes to attempt the first boulder problem, 5 minutes of rest, and then 5 minutes to attempt the next

  • The pattern continues until the climber has attempted all 4 boulder problems

What if I finish the climb before the 5 minutes is up?

  • Amazing! You will get more rest time before your next boulder problem.

What are the levels?

  • Here’s a rough guideline:

    • Level 1: Yellow and Orange circuit difficulty

    • Level 2: Orange and White circuit difficulty

    • Level 3: Purple and Green circuit difficulty

  • Just remember, seeing a climb for the first time and only have 5 minutes will be a different experience from climbing something during multiple sessions.

Okay cool, but what one do I sign up for?

  • Whatever you want! Since it’s not a competition, it doesn’t matter.

  • If you want to absolutely crush, feel great and send all the climbs, choose an easier level from what you normally climb.

  • If you want to challenge yourself, see how you do with timer ticking, sign up for a higher level.

Can I change my mind later?

  • Absolutely! Whatever the reason is, you can change the category the night of.

Okay but do I have to sign-up in advance?

  • Nope! But there are only 24 spots and from what I’ve heard, they’re a hot commodity so I wouldn’t risk waiting.

What is the cost?

  • $10 if you’re a J2 member/punch pass holder

  • $20 for non-J2 member

    • Day Pass included in this pricing

  • No, Junction members don’t count. Sorry! (Unless you have a dual membership)

What time do I show up?

  • When you sign-up you will be picking a time slot.

  • You want to show up with enough time to get warm and ready BEFORE your time slot starts

  • For example, if your time slot is 7:30pm show up with ample time to check-in, get changed and get warm. A few minutes before your time slot, let the staff know you’re here and ready to go.
